What is SafeWomen?  We are a secure online community where women can meet and chat, with an added element that helps you be more proactive with your safety. The added element?  A secure SafeWomen server kept at a separate location, not accessible via the internet, for you to send picture messages or texts to that show details of where you are and who you are with. 

Our idea is quite simple (as all the good ones are):

You go out and meet a new guy / girl and want to continue the evening with them.  Or perhaps you are getting a cab back at the end of a night out or after working late.  You want to ensure someone holds and won't delete these details, so what do you do?  As a member you can take a photo of the car's registration number and text it to your SafeWomen number before you get in. Or you take a picture of the person you're leaving with and text us that.  

Don't worry if your phone doesn't have a camera, you can simply text us the details.  Either way, what you send us is connected to your account and remains a stored record on our secure server. We don't limit the number of texts or multimedia messages you want to send us in one night - you can send as many as you want! We don't even restrict the number of days / nights you use us during the year either. For about the cost of a bar of chocolate per week (without the calories), you can be confident that whatever you send us is secure.

Please note that as part of your subscription, you agree to us making your data available to the police should they officially request it. This way, should something happen to you, the police already have your permission to access the information.  You DO NOT have access to your photos or texts once they have been sent.  If anything should happen to you, nobody can make you erase the information. All you have is what is in the sent messages part of your mobile phone. We even give you tips on taking the photos! 

As a member of SafeWomen, tell the cab driver or the person you are going with that the details have been sent to us and explain that it is for your safety and your peace of mind.
